The good way, the natural way
The birth of Mar-Tret Conserves Artesanes dates from 1977. In the beginning it was a shop with a small kitchen where roasted pepper, escalivada and cooked legumes were produced. They were sold freshly made. Just like having it made at home. But times change, and it became necessary to offer a product that could be preserved longer without needing cold. That is how the installations in Masia Can Cortadelles were inaugurated, beside the Montserrat Mountain Natural Park.
We started making preserves in this masia, without changing the craft process that had been used all along, and all in modern installations that completely met the requirements of health regulations. And we keep it that way today. Producing the quality preserves just as we learned from our grandmother while helping her out in the hot summers of our childhood.

Preserves are not just a type of food. The way they are made is part of a tradition that is passed on from one generation to the next.
— Anna Martí, Product Manager.

Loyal to our roots.
We expanded the workroom in Masia Can Cortadelles in 1988. A new store was built, as well as a cold room and a labelling area. We expanded the workroom in Masia Can Cortadelles in 1988. A new store was built, as well as a cold room and a labelling area.
That allowed us to produce in larger amounts, without giving up either quality or craft spirit. That is how we keep producing our preserves today.
